 Ahem. Meower.
My staff just woke me up from my third mid-morning nap to tell me the big news - that I am to be crowned the new Biscuit Fund SpokesCat - and I am (almost) speechless!
First, I'd like to congratulate Tessa, Turkish Bill and Katie for trying to put up a good fight in the contest (even though they didn't stand a chance against regal, brilliant and charming me).
And I'd like to give a big yowl out to all my adoring fans who wrote in from across the globe to vote for me - including Zeke the wonder-dog (a rescue dog himself) who voted all the way from Georgia.
I'm not sure what my duties will be as the new Biscuit Fund SpokesCat - but I sure hope they include napping, eating wet food, getting my bum scratched, chasing crows and watching the Canucks! (The Sedin twins are my favourites because we have the same hair colour. Every time they score, I stretch and yawn with delight.)
You know, I'm really lucky to be able to do all that kind of stuff - thanks to everyone at the BC SPCA and the Biscuit Fund. Before they started to take care of me, my eyes hurt so much I was always sad and cranky; I could never watch TV for long. And my teeth were so sore, I couldn't enjoy my food at all. Now, since the doctors and staff fixed me up, I have a great new home with a nurturing mistress who makes sure I'm healthy, safe and well-loved.
